Preparing mountain routes & live itineraries

A rugged, sub-zero winter expedition into the frozen landscapes of Kinnaur and the Trans-Himalayan high desert of Spiti Valley. Designed for intrepid travellers seeking true wilderness, this winter route navigates along the snow-covered National Highway 5 and the carved gorges of the Satluj and Spiti rivers, avoiding the snowbound high passes. Witness frozen waterfalls, snow-draped ancient monasteries, and vast white valleys at temperatures dropping well below freezing. Experience authentic winter homestays heated by traditional tukhpa and bukhari wood stoves in Sangla, Kalpa, Tabo, Kaza, and Dhankar. From the perched cliffside redoubt of Key Monastery to the high gorge bridge at Chicham, this journey offers an intimate encounter with Spiti’s rawest and quietest season.
All trips are led by experienced mountain drivers and trip coordinators. Itineraries are paced for comfortable acclimatization with emergency first aid kits on hand.
